My name is Michael Schmitz and I am nineteen years old. I recently graduated from Everett High School in Everett, Washington, and now I attend the University of Washington in Seattle.
As this website suggests, programming is one of my hobbies. Less explicitly, I enjoy distributing Linux propaganda, Slackware propaganda in particular (although I have recently switched to Gentoo Linux).
For athletics, I run through the city, rock climb in the gym and outdoors, and kayak through the San Juan islands. For fun I hang out with friends in the dorm or my girlfriend. There's always plenty to do on the UW campus--downtown Seattle is merely a free bus ride away. And QFC, a late night adventure, has its doors open, just down the hill, 24 hours per day.
Everett doesn't exactly epitomize excitement, but interesting things do occasionally happen in the city. And my permenant residence is in a beautiful area, nestled between a panorama of mountains, bordering the Puget Sound, and a few hours away from the Olympic Coast.
