Michael Schmitz

I am 24 years old and I am a graduate from the University of Washington in the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Mathematics. I have a strong interest in logic and programming languages, but now I am working in the field of Artificial Intelligence. Here is a history of my work experience (starting with the most recent):

• Positronic was acquired by Ebay, so I worked for the Search Quality team, improving eBay's search functionality as well as researching and developing innovative applications to connect users with products.

• at Positronic--a small startup near Pike Place--I worked on using genetic algorithms to learn solutions to practical problems.

• at the University of Washington I worked on the PanImages research project, combining multilingual and bilingual dictionaries to create a translation graph that would allow direct word translation between any two languages in the graph.
